A Largo homeowner’s sewer backed up while they were away on vacation. This particular home in Largo has a water softener installed on their incoming water lines. A water softener will go into regeneration mode on a set schedule to ensure the water supplying the Largo home is treated properly. The waste water from the regeneration cycle is then discharged into the city sewer line. Since the sewer line was clogged, this waste water backed up and eventually overflowed a toilet on the property. This sewage leak continued for over 12 days until it was noticed. As you can see in the pictures below, sewage can do a lot of damage to a property and its contents. If leaking water is not cleaned up in a timely fashion, mold growth will occur.
